There are many free activities you can do in Westchester and its surrounding areas this spring.
Here are some options:
PEPSICO SCULPTURE GARDEN
PepsiCo shares the ground of its corporate headquarters with the public. Walk in a beautiful garden among sculptures by world renowned artists.
The Gardens will reopen in Spring of 2020.
WAVE HILL
This is a 28-acre public garden and cultural center overlooking the Hudson River and Palisades in the Bronx.
The admission is free on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9am-12pm
MUSCOOT FARM
Plan a visit to see the animals and participate in events throughout the year. Most activities are free!
BRONX ZOO
General admission is free all day on Wednesdays. Please consider making a donation to help support their operating costs.
MID-HUDSON CHILDREN’S MUSEUM
This museum offers free admission on the third Saturday of each month for their Family Free Nights from 5 to 8pm.
The event is intended for children ages 0-6.
BICYCLE SUNDAYS
The Bronx River Parkway closes to traffic between 10am-2pm starting in May 2020.
SOUTH AND NORTH COUNTY TRAILWAY
The paved trailway spans over 34 miles in
Westchester and Putnam counties. It’s suitable for walking and biking.
KENSICO DAM PLAZA
The best park for all ages and for all kinds of activities like walking, running, biking, and ball games is Kensico Dam Plaza. It also offers a playground and events throughout the year.
HUDSON RIVER GREENWAY
This is one of the most popular places to ride, walk, and jog in New York City. It offers beautiful views of the water and skyline along its paved path.
THE WALKWAY OVER THE HUDSON
This is the world’s longest elevated pedestrian bridge. The linear park spans the Hudson River between the Town of Lloyd in Ulster County and the City of Poughkeepsie in Dutchess County.
You can walk, bike, or scooter.
THE HOME DEPOT KIDS WORKSHOP
On the first Saturday of each month, kids can participate in building a project from 9am-12pm at participating The Home Depot locations.
LAKESHORE LEARNING STORE
Here you will find a free craft for kids every Saturday from 11am-3pm.
