You will need:
Clear container
Vegetable oil
Water
Food coloring
Alka-Seltzer tablets

Instructions:
Fill the container 1/2 full with veg. oil and 1/2 water.
Add many drops of food coloring.
Divide the Alka-Seltzer tablet into small pieces. Drop one of the pieces into the liquid and wait for the magic to happen. Keep adding little pieces to make the fun continue.

QUESTIONS:
What happens if you stir the mixture?
a) it explodes
b) water and oil mix perfectly
c) water and oil don’t mixed
What happens after you added the water?
a) it evaporated
b) is transformed into a jelly-fish
c) it went to the bottom of the container

Connection to Science
The tablets and water mix to make a chemical reaction releasing carbon dioxide gas. These bubbles attach themselves to the colored water and cause them to float to the surface. When the bubbles pop, the color sinks back to the bottom of the bottle.

LÁMPARA DE LAVA CON ALKA-SELTZER

Necesitarás:
Recipiente transparente
Colorante alimenticio
Tabletas de Alka-Seltzer
Aceite y agua

Instrucciones:
Llena el recipiente mitad aceite y mitad agua.
Agrega varias gotas de colorante.
Divide la tableta de Alka-Seltzer en trozos pequeños. Pon una de las piezas en el líquido y espera a que suceda la magia. Sigue agregando pequeñas piezas para que la diversión continúe.

Conexión con la ciencia
Las tabletas y el agua se mezclan haciendo una reacción química que libera dióxido de carbono. Estas burbujas se adhieren al agua coloreada y hacen que floten hacia la superficie. Cuando las burbujas explotan, el color vuelve al fondo de la botella.
